Visit the Villages of Ancient Hawaii!

with Kumuola

In the interest of supporting all local endeavors that perpetuate Hawaiian Culture, we offer a glimpse of a promising venture.
Kumuola - The tree of life.
A Venue to Express the Passions and Traditions of Hawaii

The resurgence of Hawaiian Culture, ancient and modern...
Situated right here in the heart of Waikiki.

Yes, it's amazing but true. There IS... Hawaiian culture in Waikiki.
And it can be found in the heart of the International Market Place.

Aside from featuring many Polynesian Hula Shows and local Hawaiian musicians in daily or nightly events, and South Seas Cinema nights, the ohana developing Kumuola bring many things of Old Hawaii back to life and allow the kama'aina as well as malihini a fabulous opportunity to reconnect or even to first make contact with that which all who touch these shores by rights should do; introduce themselves to the host culture... get to know it. Learn a little respect towards the ancient (which is still alive) culture of Hawai'i.

Kumuola, with their many events and classes being formed will allow hundreds to be touched with the wisdom of Hawai'i.
We will learn:

Mele
Hawaiian Music

Oli
Chant

'Olelo
Hawaiian Language Classes

Lomilomi
Traditional Hawaiian Massage

Hana No'eau
The Arts of Hawaiian Daily Life;

Lei making

Ipu - gourd making

LauHala mat and basket creation.

Kapa making and its decoration.

Hula Classes.
...many levels:

Keiki - Beginners - Intermediate - Advanced - Private

Kumuola offer classes taught by Na Kumu O Hawai'i. (Hawaiian masters of various art forms.) These practitioners are vital parts of our Hawaiian community and have come to share their gifts, passed down from generation to generation given directly from Kupuna, many of whom have passed over.
